Accidental naps happened pretty frequently here.
The sound of the ever flowing river made falling asleep effortless.
YES, we had a private plunge pool in our hut!
We were even lucky enough to see elephants & baboons bathing across the river, staying cool in the African heat just like us!
Each morning, our butler would greet us with a tray of tea & biscuits to enjoy before the busy day ahead.
This was always our favorite time to sit on the veranda & take in the views of the Laikipia Plateau & Mount Kenya.
This cute dik dik antelope was our most frequent visitor!
Thanks to the Pack For A Purpose organization,

A few hours into our game drive, our driver & guide hunted down the ideal remote area to stop & have a bush breakfast.
We started off with a cup of tea, then a bowl of milk & granola,
& finished with a full spread of eggs, bacon, grilled onions, biscuits & a stack pancakes
that Michael & William cooked right there from the side of the jeep!
We were definitely refreshed & ready to spot more wildlife between the gaps of vegetation.
This picture was taken while Michael & William were changing our jeep’s SECOND flat tire.
Despite the bump in the road {literally}, our day quickly improved when we came across some familiar faces.
Hint: Best Disney Movie Ever
aka "African Happy Hour"
About an hour into our peaceful stroll, we arrived at the edge of a cliff that overlooked the savannah.
William made a fire {from scratch} & cooked us some sausages to snack on while we sipped on our wine!
As the sun slipped below the horizon, we sat there, still in awe that our marriage & honeymoon was all incredibly real.
On our last night, the entire staff surprised us with a delicious chocolate cake & a “Happy Honeymoon” song.
The following morning, we headed straight to the “airport” to catch our flight.
Because of the heavy rainfall from the previous night, the airstrip was so damp & soft that our plane got stuck.
Nothing a shovel & man strength x4 couldn’t fix!
